A week filled with learning and entertainment
From November 11 to 15, 2024, the Phule Nagar Community Library in Powai transformed into a hub of joy, learning, and creativity to celebrate Children’s Day. The week-long event featured a variety of activities aimed at fostering creativity, knowledge, and community spirit among children.
One of the highlights of the event was a skit performed by children who prepared extensively in advance, showcasing their enthusiasm and talent. The celebrations also included the screening of two inspiring short films—Umeed and Arunima Sinha—that focused on important themes like environmental conservation and the power of determination and hope. These films not only entertained but also left the children with valuable life lessons.
A lively quiz contest on India further enriched the event, sparking curiosity and healthy competition among participants. Children exhibited their knowledge and teamwork during the engaging session. A workshop on creating “best out of waste” encouraged innovation and sustainability, teaching young minds the importance of recycling through hands-on activities.
Creativity was on full display during the poster and slogan-making competitions, as well as a vibrant rangoli-making contest, which brought a splash of color and artistry to the event. A reading competition celebrated the joy of books, motivating children to hone their literacy skills and discover new worlds through reading.
To ensure the children remained energized and enthusiastic throughout the festivities, the library arranged snacks and lunch for all participants.
The week’s activities reflected the library’s commitment to nurturing creativity, learning, and social awareness among children. This celebration was not just about fun but also about imparting meaningful lessons, making it a truly memorable Children’s Day. The library continues to be a vital space for the Phule Nagar community, inspiring young minds every step of the way.
